She has specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child First Forensic Interviewing, Triple P Positive Parenting, Perinatal Mental Health, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Strengthening Families Program, and Child Parent Psychotherapy. Dr. Wymer has academic teaching experience in the disciplines of counseling and social work. As the Co-Owner and a Consultant at Impact Clinical Consulting, LLC, she provides clinical consultation services, supervision, and counseling. Dr. Wymer’s research and scholarship interests include trauma-informed supervision and treatment, parental engagement and support, and maternal wellness.

Leah Gooch (she/her), our Director of Wellness Operations, received a Master of Science from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Science from the University of South Carolina. Before joining Impact, Leah worked in nonprofit administration and law enforcement training and certification, while also serving as an advocate for accessible mental health treatment and trauma-informed practices. Leah has a wide range of experience including strategy development, compliance, research, and data analysis. At Impact, Leah oversees business operations to ensure that clients of Impact receive innovative programming and the highest quality therapeutic support services. She further serves as our Psychological Assistant and HIPAA Compliance Officer. Outside of Impact, Leah enjoys outdoor activities, especially adventures with her dogs.

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration — Management from the University of South Carolina. She also received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of South Carolina. Amanda has specialized training and experience in trauma treatment for children, adolescents and adults, as well as medical social work. She has advanced training in Child Parent Psychotherapy, play therapy, perinatal mental health, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She is currently developing and coordinating the Maternal Wellness Program here at Impact.

In 2019, she presented an academic research poster focused on breaking cultural boundaries using Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) in Vienna, Austria, at the European Branch of the American Counseling Association.

Nicole Hamm (she/her) has a Bachelor of Arts in Experimental Psychology, an Education Specialist Masters degree in Counselor Education, as well as a Play Therapy certification from the University of South Carolina. She is an LPC, nationally certified counselor, and certified K-12 school counselor in South Carolina. Nicole spent four years working in a charter school as a school counselor and Director of Counseling. Throughout her time in the school systems, she had the opportunity to work on crisis teams as a crisis counselor and wrote and maintained crisis protocols for the school.
Nicole has developed and presented various trainings to teachers and staff on Trauma & the Brain, Student Behavior and Rapport, and Cultivating Connections with Students, Teachers, and Yourself. In 2019, she presented an academic research poster focused on self-esteem and school connectedness in Vienna, Austria, at the European Branch of the American Counseling Association.
Nicole is a mental health therapist who works specifically with children, teens, and young adults. She specializes in play therapy and works from the framework that play is the universal language of children. She is passionate about advocating for mental health and access to resources, specifically in the school systems. In Addition to her work at Impact, Nicole is the mental wellness coordinator for the Handle with Care grant under the University of South Carolina, School of Medicine.

She has experience working with children, youth, young adults, and families. She specializes in working with clients struggling with anxiety, social engagement, depression, self- esteem, ASD-related challenges, PTSD, trauma, life transitions, and relational problems. Anne’s therapeutic approach is to create a safe, supportive environment where clients can address their mental health needs without judgment. Anne has training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and Expressive Arts Therapy techniques.

Amanda Sims (she/her) is a Licensed Master Social Worker who comes to Impact with experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. After spending 15 years in the education field, Amanda decided to pursue a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Columbia College. She completed an Advanced Standing Master's of Social Work degree program at the University of South Carolina. Amanda has specialized training in medical social work, as well as years of experience navigating the complexities of the South Carolina foster care system. Amanda specializes in working with adolescents and teens to develop strategies to express themselves, develop greater levels of self-control and manage anxiety with the understanding that teens are not ready to be adults, but need developmentally-appropriate experience with independence.
